Privacy Policy

Introduction
MemoryForge ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our flashcard learning application.
Information We Collect
- Flashcard Data: Cards and decks you create are stored locally on your device using iOS's built-in data storage.
- API Keys: If you choose to use AI features, your API keys are securely stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
- Usage Statistics: AI generation usage counts are tracked locally to manage trial limits. This data never leaves your device.
- Advertising Identifier (IDFA): If you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, your device's advertising identifier may be collected by Google AdMob to deliver personalised ads. If you decline, only non-personalised ads are shown.
- Ad Interaction Data: Google AdMob may collect data such as device model, OS version, app activity, and ad interaction events for ad delivery and measurement purposes.
App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
On first launch, the App will ask for your permission to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites for the purpose of delivering personalised advertisements. This uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.
- If you allow tracking: Your advertising identifier (IDFA) is shared with Google AdMob to show personalised ads relevant to your interests.
- If you decline tracking: No advertising identifier is shared. You will still see ads, but they will be contextual and non-personalised.
- You can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Advertising
MemoryForge displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. The App shows three types of ads:
- Banner Ads: Displayed at the bottom of the main deck list screen.
- Interstitial Ads: Full-screen ads shown periodically after completing review sessions.
- Rewarded Ads: Optional ads you can choose to watch in exchange for additional AI card generation credits.
Google AdMob may collect and process the following data for ad delivery and fraud prevention:
- Device identifiers (IDFA if ATT permission is granted)
- IP address and coarse location
- App activity and ad interaction events
- Device information (model, OS version)
For more information on how Google collects and uses this data, please see Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data practices.
In-App Purchases
The App offers a one-time in-app purchase to permanently remove all advertisements ("Remove Ads"). Purchase transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs all purchase data: apple.com/legal/privacy.
- Purchase status is stored locally on your device.
- You can restore a previous purchase at any time using the "Restore Purchases" button.
AI Features & Third-Party AI Providers
When you use AI card generation features, your prompts are sent to the AI provider you select:
We only send the topic and generation parameters you enter — never your existing flashcard content. Please review each provider's privacy policy for information on how they handle your data.

- API keys are encrypted and stored in the iOS Keychain.
